So I decided when I was about 16-years-old that NYC was where I wanted to live. At that time I had never visited before. I just knew it was a great place that everyone 'makes it big'.

No he is not a fisherman. But does he not look like he belongs in a movie based in the 1950's? What makes this look work? The typical all-american boy look made modern. The slightly worn wife beater, flat-front chino shorts and rain boots.
